The Expendables

The Expendables

The Expendables comfortably at the top of the U.S. Box office, despite a strong start to the week by comedy spoof movie Vampire's Suck.

Sylvester Stallone's all action movie took $16.5 million this week to spend a fortnight in the top spot as Stallone stars in his first movie in two years.

And while Vampires Suck made a strong start it couldn't quite catch The Expendables as it took $12.2 million and had to settle for second spot.

A spoof of vampire-theme movies, where teenager Becca finds herself torn between two boys. As she and her friends wrestle with a number of different dramas, everything comes to a head at their prom.

Julia Robert's new movie Eat Pray Love dropped just a single place from two to three while there was a second new entry inside the top five in the form of Lottery Ticket at number four.

The Other Guys dropped two places to round off the top five.

Then it's new entries all the way as Piranha 3D, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and Switch opened at six, seven and eight. It was a disappointing opening for Jennifer Aniston's new movie Switch after her huge publicity drive.

This week's biggest fallers were Inception and Scott Pilgrim vs the World as they both dropped five places to round off the top ten at nine and ten.
