Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 has made it a month at the top of the UK box office.

Despite movies such as The Sorcerer's Apprentice and The Last Airbender hitting the big screen this week the Pixar movie, which is the highest grossing animation movie of all time, took a further £3.1 million to hold onto the top spot.

Christopher Nolan's Inception moved up a place this week from three to number two while The Last Airbender, despite struggling with the critics when released in America, was the highest new entry at number three.

The movie sees a return to the director's chair for filmmaker M.Night Shyamalan as he brings the popular animation series to the big screen in a live action film.

The story follows the adventures of Aang, a young successor to a long line of Avatars, who must put his childhood ways aside and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations.

Tom Cruise's action movie Knight & Day fell two place to number four while The Sorcerer's Apprentice was a second new entry at number five. The movie reunites Nicolas Cage with National Treasure director Jon Turtletaub.

Step Up 3D was down two place at six, as the top six movie all broke the £1 million barrier at the box office this weekend. The Karate Kid and The A-Team were both down one as they finished the week at six and seven.

This week's biggest faller came in the form of Cat & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore as it dropped four spots from last week's number five to this week's nine.

A new entry, Tinkerbell & The Great Fairy Rescue, rounded off the top ten.
