Batman vs. Superman will not be moved from the May 6th, 2016 release date, according to Warner Bros president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman.

Batman vs. Superman is set to go head to head with Captain America 3, when both movies hit the big screen on that date.

Marvel have held that release date for quite some time - however, it has only been revealed in the last couple of weeks that Captain America 3 would be the film that would be filling that slot.

Batman vs. Superman was originally slated to be released next year, until Warner Bros moved the release date to coincide with the release of the then unnamed Marvel film.

There seems to be no movement from Marvel, and it seems that Batman vs. Superman is also sticking to their release plan.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Fellman said: "It doesn't make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16.

"However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for Batman vs Superman."

Batman vs. Superman is the sequel to Man of Steel, and will see Zac Snyder return to the director’s chair and Henry Cavill to the role of Clark Kent.

The movie will mark the return of Batman to the big screen for the first time since The Dark Knight Rises, as Ben Affleck takes over the role for the first time. Other new additions include Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
