Clifford The Big Red Dog is a beloved kids’ character, shown first in books for young children. Now he is on his way to hitting the big screen, and it seems that even before the cinematic release date, the lovable pooch has already made a tremendous impact.
Paramount have recently announced that a sequel to their upcoming movie is officially in production; the film is currently streaming on Paramount+ and has been since November 10th, 2021, becoming a roaring success.
Due to this, it's officially getting a sequel.
Clifford was created in 1963 when Normal Bridwell published his first ever book in a series of children’s classics.
Clifford was the runt of his litter, but he grew to an unbelievable size due to the love of his owner. The giant pup has been seen in many adventures that spanned 80 books, two TV series, and a feature film.
Though he's already entertaining audiences, Clifford hasn't yet hit British ciema; the film will be released in the UK on December 10th, 2021.
TheWrap has reported that a new Clifford movie is already in the works; however, this is all we know at this point. It is unclear when the film will release or if any actors are set to return, which is understandable at this point, seeing as though the first feature has only just been released.
It is also unclear at this time whether or not Paramount will follow the same formula as the first film in the sequel, which is Clifford getting into massive trouble, and lots of it. Audiences may also be wondering if the sequel will release in the same way as this year’s (2021) movie; releasing a film to streaming before putting it in cinemas seems an odd formula, but it does appear to have worked for Clifford The Big Red Dog.
This exciting news comes after the film showcased on Paramount+ as it is now one of the service’s most watched original films. While audiences wait for more news on the sequel, excitement can still build for another adventure starring the iconic giant red pup.
