Demi Moore

Demi Moore is set to replace Sarah Jessica Parker in 'Wild Oats' but it is not yet  known why the actress pulled out.

Moore is set to join Jessica Lange, Shirley Maclaine and Alan Arkin in the comedy but it is not yet known why Parker - who was catapulted to the spotlight following her role as Carrie Bradshaw on HBO series 'Sex and the City' - pulled out of the project, reports Variety.com.

'Hitch' director Andy Tennant will helm the film from a script penned by Claudia Myers and Gary Kanew.

Producers are Blythe Frank of Wild Pictures and Kip Konwiser of the Konwiser Brothers, while the Stealth Media Group is executive producing.

The story follows MacLaine who is widowed and given a life insurance cheque worth $5 million instead of the expected $50,000 accidentally and her close pal Lange urges her to cash-in the money and retire to the Canary Islands.

Maclaine - who made her film debut in Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Trouble with Harry' - most recently hit the big screen as Edna Mitty in Ben Stiller's 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', whilst Lange is currently filming 'The Gambler' which is due for a 2015 release.

And Moore most recently played Kate in drama 'Very Good Girls'.
