Finding Dory has already grossed over $800 million at the global box office and is now a critical and commercial smash here in the UK.

The movie, which comes over a decade since the release of Finding Nemo, took just over £8 million to hold off the challenge from Jason Bourne.

Finding Dory is already the fifth highest-grossing film of the year and will leap-frog Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the very near future. When that happens, Disney will have the four highest-grossing films of the year - Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis, and The Jungle Book.

Matt Damon returned to the role of Jason Bourne this weekend as the fifth film in the franchise - the fourth starring Damon - hit the big screen.

And it was another huge success as the film took £7.6 million to open at number two. It was always going to be a tight battle between the two movies.

The BFG slipped two places this week to three, while Star Trek Beyond was also down two at number four.

The Secret Life of Pets was the first of the none-movers as the animated film stayed put at number five. So far, the movie has grossed over $396 million at the global box office.

Ghostbusters fell out of the top five as the action/comedy slipped two places from four to this week's number six.

The Legend of Tarzan, Ice Age: Collision Course, and Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie were all none-movers as they stayed put at seven, eight, and nine.

Dishoom was the third and final new entry this week as the movie opened at number ten.
