Popular streaming service, Disney+, will be welcoming a new title to its platform under the Star banner next month (March, 2022).

Marvel actor Sebastian Stan and Normal People actress Daisy Edgar-Jones star together in this 18+ movie, called Fresh, focused on how dating can bring us all kinds of surprises.

This year has a great line-up of movies streaming online, such as Ryan Reynolds’ The Adam Project, and the recently-released The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022); placing films exclusively online is becoming more popular for many platforms, including Disney+.

Fresh follows the story of Noa (Edgar-Jones), a woman who isn’t having the best luck when it comes to dating; the men she dates are either rude or simply not for her, so it seems that she may have given up... until he shows up.

In a produce aisle of a grocery store, Noa meets Steve, a charming, attractive man who easily gets her attention; with how frustrated she is with dating apps, Noa decides to give Steve a chance.

After their first date, Noa realises that she is smitten, and chooses to go with her new lover on a lovely, romantic weekend away.

However, this ideal weekend turns sour, as Noa begins to discover that Steve isn’t as sweet as he seems, and that he has some odd and unusual tastes.

In addition to Stan and Edgar-Jones, the cast also includes Jojo T. Gibbs (Twenties), Charlotte Le Bon (Anthropoid, The Hundred-Foot Journey), with Andrea Bang (Luce), and Dayo Okeniyi (Runner Runner, The Spectacular Now).

Fresh has a brilliant team working behind the scenes, such as cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski (Hereditary, Midsommar), editor Martin Pensa (Wild, Dallas Buyers Club), production designer Jennifer Morden (Riot Girls), and composer Alex Somers (Honey Boy, Captain Fantastic).

The trailer for this upcoming feature showcases Stan’s skills as an actor, as many are used to seeing him as the anti-hero Bucky from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but in Fresh, he is a man not to be trusted.

The movie appears to be a dark and twisted tale, which will definitely grab audiences’ attention; many people adore a good crime story, and this one seems to be a very intriguing narrative.

Fresh will land on Disney+, under the Star banner, on March 18th, 2022 in the UK and Ireland.
