Harry Treadaway says he wanted to get involved with Honeymoon on he strength of the script.

Treadaway has teamed up with Rose Leslie for the horror film, which follows a newlywed couple head to a remote spot for their honeymoon. But their happiness is short-lived as Bea's behaviour becomes more and more bizarre.

And Treadaway says that the way that the script kept him guessing was a major draw when he read it for the first time.

Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "The strength of the script, for me, was that you’re really left, right till the end, to know what’s happening.

"This seemingly perfect, happy, kooky real relationship slowly turns into something horrifying, but you get there through a filter of reality with all of it.

"There are scenes which would be similar to someone who lost their memory in an accident, or is losing their touch with reality, or has had a strong, or that has amnesia.

"There are elements to it where you don’t know and you’re constantly guessing. It’s rare to have a script like that."

Honeymoon marks the feature film directorial debut for Leigh Janiak, who has also penned the screenplay.

2014 has been a terrific year for Treadaway with TV projects such as Fleming and Penny Dreadful under his belt.

The actor takes on the role of Dr. Victor Frankenstein in the series, which will returning for a second season.

Honeymoon is released 26th September.
