Iain De Caestecker has described working on How To Catch A Monster as one of the greatest experiences of his career.

De Caestecker is set to star in How To Catch A Monster, which is the directorial debut of Ryan Gosling.

The actors says that Gosling has been a big inspiration for him, and he was excited at the chance to work with him.

Speaking Digital Spy, the actor said: "Ryan is someone who was a big inspiration to me before I knew him and this has only increased it.

To have the chance to work in a movie with him, he is just a really amazing person and he wrote a really amazing script but he was someone who would come in every day and wanted us to bring something to it, we would improvise and try something new and it was always a really exciting time I remember.

"I loved being around him and I learnt a lot and it was one of the best experiences that I have ever had, it was a really inspiring place as well, and I haven't seen the final cut of the movie yet but knowing that Ryan has something to do with it, it is just a really exciting thing to be a part of."

Gosling has written and directed the film, and has assembled a great cast that also includes Matt Smith, Christina Hendricks and Saoirse Ronan.

How To Catch A Monster will be the first time that we have seen De Caestecker on the big screen since the success of Filth. He has also been taking on the role of Leo Fitz in TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

How To Catch A Monster is released later this year.
