Lady Gaga, pop sensation and beloved actress, has stated that she called upon A Star is Born co-star and Hangover actor, Bradley Cooper, before accepting the role of Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott’s recent cinematic venture, House of Gucci

As of today (December 14th, 2021), the movie, which is based on the true story of one-time Gucci head Maurizio Gucci, has been met with fairly positive reviews from both audiences and critics; however, it is Gaga’s outstanding performance that has been praised time and time again, and she is said to be the film’s best chance of winning an Oscar.

With the highly-anticipated feature now in cinemas, many wonder if Gaga’s performance will land her with her second Best Actress nomination within only three years.

The Oscars are months away, but the pop icon appears to be oozing pride and love for the project, as well as being grateful for the opportunity.

35-year-old Gaga recently spoke with EW and made it known that her acting career is not taken lightly, and before accepting the role of Reggiani in House of Gucci, she looked to former co-star Cooper for advice:

“Bradley Cooper really believed in me for the role of Ally Maine in A Star Is Born... It was the success of our artistic collaboration that landed me where I am now. [...] Absolutely... I've confided in Bradley for years, and I've always appreciated his support and his advice, his thoughts on my future endeavours.”

It seems clear that, based on the positive reviews and support from fans, Gaga made the right choice by accepting this role; however, that may not have happened without friend Cooper’s moral support.

Gaga is still at the start of her acting career, more or less, and it appears that she is nowhere near done yet. Her other roles have seen her in American Horror Story: Hotel, Machete Kills, Muppets Most Wanted and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and hopefully there will be more Gaga-led features to come.

House of Gucci is in cinemas now.
