Robbie is set to return to the big screen this summer as she takes on the role of Harley Quinn in the already highly anticipated comic book movie.

This will be the first time that we have seen the Suicide Squad on the big screen and Robbie admits that she is just as excited as everyone else to see the finished movie.

Speaking to HelloGiggles, she said: "I'm not even going to pretend to play it cool. I am dying to see it. When people are like 'I can't wait to see it.' I'm like 'You've got no idea, I want to see it more than you do!'

"I think it's going to be so cool, and I just love that there's a chick character who's that badass, and who's actually, like funnier and crazier and stronger than some of the males. I think that rarely happens."

The movie sees Robbie team up with filmmaker David Ayer for the first time in what will be his debut comic book film. Ayer has brought us films such as Harsh Times and End of Watch but this will be his first film since Fury at the end of 2014.

The director has assembled a fantastic cast as Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Common, and Cara Delevingne will all star alongside Robbie. We are also going to see Ben Affleck make a cameo appearance as Batman.

Suicide Squad really does look set to be one of the biggest comic book movies of 2016 and could be the start of an exciting film franchise.

As for Robbie, we are going to see her in war comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot before Suicide Squad, which sees her team up with Tina Fey.

She has also completed work on The Legend of Tarzan, in which she will take on the role of Jane Porter. It is another very busy year for the in-demand actress.

Suicide Squad is released 5th August.
