We saw Ruffalo return to the role of Bruce Banner earlier this year in Avengers: Age of Ultron and fans have expressed their desire to see the Oscar nominated actor land his own solo film.

And while the solo movie doesn't look like it will be happening anytime soon, Ruffalo says that he is 'ok with it.'

Speaking to USA Today, the actor said: "Actually, it feels even further away [from happening]," Ruffalo said of a spinoff movie. "It's not Marvel's property, it's Universal's property. I don't know. It seems really problematic.

"I've been around long enough to be ok with it. There's only so much that's in my power and I'm not going to agonise over what is not in my power. I definitely try to limit that to my kids and the things that really matter to me.

"I'd love to do it, it'd be really fun. There's a lot still to do with the character. I always try to think about different places we could go with him."

And while a solo Hulk film isn't on the cards, we are going to see the popular character star in Thor: Ragnarok. This is the third solo Thor movie and it will be the first time that the Hulk has appeared outside of the Avengers franchise.

The movie will see Ruffalo reunite with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, as they reprise the roles of Thor and Loki. Thor: Ragnarok will hit the big screen in 2017 and filming will get underway next year.

As for Ruffalo, he is currently promoting his new film Spotlight, which tells the true story of the Boston Globe and how they uncovered child molestation in the catholic church.

The movie also stars Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, and Stanley Tucci and is being tipped as a potential Oscar contender.
