Independence Day: Resurgence

It was back in 1996 when Emmerich brought us Independence Day - which is still a terrific movie twenty years on. This new film promises to be even bigger than the first.

It is fair to say that the planet is once again at risk and these brand new posters show some of the world's most famous landmarks destroyed... take a look:

It may be twenty years since the release of the first film, but there are plenty of familiar faces on board Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, and Vivica A. Fox will reprise the roles of David Levinson, President Whitmore, and Jasmine.

But there are also some big new additions as Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Sela Ward are also on board.

We always knew they were coming back. After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale.

Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defence program to protect the planet.

But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

There are some big movies on the horizon over the next couple of months, and Independence Day: Resurgence is one that you cannot miss.

Independence Day: Resurgence is released 23rd June.
