Oblivion

Tom Cruise has returned to the top of the UK box office we his new movie Oblivion.

The sci-fi film toppled the Croods from the number one spot as this film dominated the box office this weekend.

Oblivion sees Cruise team up with director Joseph Kosinski as they depict a world that has been ravaged by war.

The movie took £4.9 million in its opening weekend to comfortably take the top spot.

The Croods fell just a single place this week to two grossing a further £1.9 million.

Scary Move 5 was new in at number three while The Place Beyond the Pines was new at four.

The film sees Ryan Gosling reunite with director Derek Cianfrance as well as star alongside Bradley Cooper for the very first time.

GI Joe: Retaliation was down three place this week at five while Jack The Giant Slayer was down one at six.

Oz The Great and Powerful was also down one as it slipped from six to seven and Trance was a four place faller at eight.

Dark Skies was this week's biggest faller as it dropped six places from three to nine.

The Host rounded off the top ten this week as it dropped three places from seven to ten.
