The Amazing Spider Man 2
Spider Man spin off movies are in the pipeline according to Sony Pictures.
The Spider Man franchise was rebooted last year with Andrew Garfield in the title role and Marc Webb in the director's chair. The Amazing Spider Man 2 will be hitting the big screen next year.
And now Sony Pictures are looking to expand the franchise further with some spin off movies focusing on villains and other key characters in their own stand alone movies.
Michael Lynton, Sony Pictures' Entertainment chief, told analysts in a Q&A session: "We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man. There are a number of scripts in the works."
Deadline reported that Sony Pictures will be working closely with Marvel and Disney for these film.
Sony Picture owns the rights to the Spider Man character, but Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009, has the rights to all of the characters within the Spider Man universe.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 will see Garfield return to the role of Peter Parker, while Webb is in the director's chair.
Emma Stone, Sally Field and Martin Sheen will also be reprising the roles of Gwen Stacy, Aunt May and Uncle Ben.
There are also some new faces to watch out for as Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and Dane DeHaan are also on board.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 is released 18th April 2014.
