The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

There was no change of the top of the UK box office as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies made it two weeks in the number one spot.

The Battle of the Five Armies - which is the final film in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy - has also topped the U.S. box office this week while taking a further £5.4 million in the UK. After just two weeks on release, the film has already grossed in excess of $358 million worldwide.

There was also no change at number two as Paddington continues to perform well, taking a further £2.5 million. Night At The Museum: Secret of the Tomb is the highest new entry inside the top ten this week, as it opened at number three. Shawn Levy is back in the director’s chair for the third, and what is believed to be the final, film in the Night at the Museum film franchise. The film grossed £1.8 million round off the top three.

Despite topping the box office in America, Dumb and Dumber To could only mange fourth in the UK as the second highest new entry. Penguins of Madagascar slipped just a single place this week to number five. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 fell out of the top five this week as it dropped three places from three to six.

PK was the final new entry at seven, while there was no move for Nativity 3: Dude, Where’s My Donkey at eight. The Imitation Game and Get Santa were the biggest fallers this week as they both dropped four places from five and six to nine and ten.
