Oz The Great and Powerful

Oz The Great and Powerful

The more I see of Oz The Great and Powerful the more I am looking forward to it... and it will be hitting the big screen on 8th March.

The movie marks the return to the director's chair for Sam Raimi in what is a very different project for the director.

This is the first film for him since Drag Me To Hell and it sees him reunite with actor James Franco.

And we have a couple of terrific clips from the film for you to check out:

We have mentioned Franco already and this film sees him kick off a very busy year as he takes on the central role of magician Oscar Diggs.

He is joined by a trio of super talented actresses as Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Oscar winner Rachel Weisz will all play witches.

The film is inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and is the prequel to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and is set to be a great adventure.

But as if Franco, Williams, Weisz and Kunis are not exciting a cast list enough Zach Braff, Bruce Campbell and Joey King are also set to appear.

When Oscar Diggs (Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot - fame and fortune are his for the taking - that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Kunis), Evanora (Weisz) and Glinda (Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.

Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.

Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity - and even a bit of wizardry - Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Sam Raimi movies are always ones that are not to be missed and it looks like he is back on top form with Oz The Great And Powerful.

Oz The Great and Powerful is released 8th March.
