I don't know about you, but Spooks: The Greater Good is one of this week's movies that I am looking forward to the most, as I was a huge fan of the original television series.

Spooks: The Greater Good

Spooks: The Greater Good

You really cannot beat a good spy thriller and Spooks: The Greater Good is promising to be an action packed ride full of great twists and turns along the way.

The movie sees Bharat Nalluri return to the director's chair and he is no stranger to the Spooks world having directed a number of episodes over the years. So while The Greater Good will have an identity of its own, Nalluri will stay true to the essence of the original series - which should keep the fans of the show happy.

Kit Harington is set to take on the central role of Will Holloway in the film, and this British actor is in action in a trio of terrific new clips:

Spooks: The Greater Good is the first time that we have seen Harington in a major lead role since Pompeii last year - however, we have seen him star in Seventh Son and Testament of Youth already this year.

Peter Firth is another actor to watch out for as he reprises the role of Harry Pearce - who has been with the TV series since the very beginning - and it is great to see him back.

Harington and Firth are joined on the cast list by Elyes Gabel, Jennifer Ehle, Lara Pulver, Tim McInnerny, Eleanor Matsuura, David Harewood, and Tuppence Middleton.

When charismatic terrorist Adam Qasim (Elyes Gabel) escapes from MI5 custody during a high profile handover, the legendary Harry Pearce (Peter Firth), Head of Counter-terrorism, is blamed. Disgraced and forced to resign, no-one's surprised when Harry disappears one night off a bridge into the Thames...

With MI5 on its knees in the wake of the Qasim debacle and facing controversial reform, former agent Will Holloway (Kit Harington) is brought back from Moscow to uncover the truth they feared - Harry's still alive. He's gone rogue, and needs Will's help.

As Qasim prepares his devastating attack on the heart of MI5 in London, Will must decide whether to turn Harry in - or risk everything by trusting the damaged, dangerous master spy who has already betrayed him once before...

If you are looking for action, espionage, and some great characters on the big screen this weekend then you need look no further than Spooks: The Greater Good.

Spooks: The Greater Good is released 8th May.
