The BFG will hit the big screen at the end of the week and is set to be one of the most magical family movies this summer.

The BFG

The BFG

The BFG is the first live-action adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic, which sees Steven Spielberg back in the director's chair.

This is the first film for Spielberg since the success of Bridge of Spies and it is great to see him return to the family film genre - E.T. is a much-loved film and I cannot wait to see him put his own stamp on this iconic story.

The BFG is a movie that we have been looking forward to as we are huge fans of Spielberg here at FemaleFirst. And here are three great new clips for you to enjoy ahead of the film's release later this week:

The movie sees Spielberg reunite with Mark Rylance for what will be their second feature film together; the Oscar-winner will take on the title role.

Rylance is joined on the cast list by Ruby Barnhill, Penelope Wilton, Rebecca Hall, Jemaine Clement, Rafe Spall, and Bill Hader.

The BFG tells the extraordinary tale of a young girl named Sophie (Barnhill) and the Big Friendly Giant (Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. Together they embark on a marvellous and buckswashling adventure filled with snozzcumbers, dream jars, frobscottle and even the Queen!

The mismatched pair form an unlikely friendship that will inspire enormous bravery in the BFG and give Sophie a taste of the family she dreams of.

The BFG is released 22nd July.
