Ruby Rose seems to be on a roll at the moment, with two films set to be released within two months, including Vanquish to be released next month (April, 2021). Her latest venture is SAS: Red Notice¸ about a bunch of private mercenaries getting revenge.

The trailer begins with a meeting between Rose’s character Grace Lewis, Serkis’ character George Clements, and Tom Wilkinson’s character William Lewis.

They meet in order to burn down a whole village, we then see both Grace and William Lewis and, assumingly Grace’s brother, Oliver Lewis (Owain Yeoman), on the news as they are now being hunted.

It seems unclear as to why Clements is off this list seeing as he was at the meeting before the village was burned down; it could be due to him not being part of the Lewis family, who seem to be their own brand of special forces.

On the other hand, we have Sophie Hart (Hannah John-Kamen) and Tom Buckingham (Sam Heughan), who board a train from Britain to Paris so Buckingham can propose. But, before they get far, the train is stopped by Grace and her team of heavily-armed and highly-dangerous mercenaries.

Grace threatens to blow up the aforementioned train and reveal the British Government’s deepest secrets, if her ransom demands are not met. However, it seems that Buckingham is the only hope Hart and the hundreds of other passengers have of making it out alive.

Buckingham, from the trailer, seems to be a special forces member, so should be well-equipped to take Grace and her team down. However, it sems that when Grace realises he’s a threat, she tries to tempt him to join her cause...

So it seems that the film will showcase explosions, fight scenes and a decent cast as Rose and Heughan battle it out.

From the trailer, it looks like we’re in for a good time with this movie. Despite Rose’s sometimes stiff acting, she seems to take hold here and really lean into the role of being on the bad guy’s team.

Serkis is a welcome addition to any film, which should go without saying. His work in The Lord of the Rings, the Planet of the Apes trilogy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, makes him a rather high-caliber actor, and whether he is part of a big plot point or not, it’s definitely great to see him involved in this project.

The movie is actually based on a book titled Red Notice, written by Andy McNab. Norwegian director Magnus Martins will be taking the lead on this film, hopefully giving us a fresh-feeling action epic.

SAS: Red Notice is out now in the UK, premiering on Sky Cinema. For anyone in the US, this film will be coming out March 16th.
