Steven Spielberg is one of the best directors of all time and he is set to return this summer with his new interpretation of Roald Dahl classic The BFG.

The BFG

The BFG

Spielberg is responsible for one of the best children's movies of all time - of course, I am talking about E.T. - and he really was the only choice when it came to choosing a director to bring The BFG back to the big screen.

While I will hold my hands up and admit that I am not the biggest Roald Dahl fan, I am looking forward to seeing this terrific filmmaker put his own stamp on a story that we all know so well.

We are going to have to wait until July for the film to hit the big screen, but we have the terrific new trailer to check out. You can to really see Mark Rylance as the BFG for the first time:

Rylance collaborated with Spielberg last year on Bridge of Spies - a role that saw him win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. It is great to see them working together again and this is the biggest film role of Rylance's career to date.

Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Ólafur Ólafsson, and Penelope Wilton are just some of the other great names that are on board. We are also going to be introduced to the acting talents of Ruby Barnhill, as she takes on the central role of Sophie.

The BFG is the exciting tale of a young London girl and the mysterious Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country

The BFG is one of Roald Dahl's most iconic books and this will be the first time that it has been brought to the big screen as a live-action film.

The BFG is released 22nd July.
