Goldfish- Soundtracks & Come Back

South African’s finest duo, GoldFish are back with ‘Soundtracks & Come Backs’, the eagerly anticipated follow up to their debut single ‘Cruising Through’.

Soundtracks & Come Backs introduces itself with a deep funky bass line, swiftly followed by the uplifting vibe of jazzy piano chords – this is pure summer. The melodic vocals and catchy lyrics will have you singing along in no time.

A flute simmers lightly in the background and the sexy saxophone boldly leads the way on this incredibly up tempo track with a massive crescendo! It’s a true anthem to put a smile on your face and hum all night long!

DJ Eako’s remix smashes in with a domineering electro underground beat. Time to takes things a little deeper, hard hitting beats are blended perfectly with the saxophone which is screaming for domination. Once the vocals emerge DJ Eako builds on the fresh and funky melody with waves of rippling convulsions never leaving the dirty beat far behind.

If you like your music a little dubbier, then you will appreciate Carlos Lamar’s effort, initially straying from the original bass and jazz with this subtle fusion. However, once it’s time for the vocals and piano to submerge, we’re on the funk train again. Chunky piano chords lead us to the end in the typical GoldFish jazzy house fashion, ending on a complete high.

Craig Massiv's remix is easily the most differentiated of the set, transforming itself into an 80’s electro-inspired little number. This would sit nicely in a Daft Punk set with the vocals being given the vocoder treatment, with a heavy synth soundtrack. Very French inspired and a great remix to end this tasty package.

One thing is for sure, ‘Soundtracks and Comebacks’ is reminiscent of the summer passed and will definitely keep you warm in the upcoming winter months! It will not disappoint with fresh, funky, fruity, piano fused jazz at its best; I defy anybody not to get up and shake it out!
