With the New Year right around the corner and a selection of major artists set to drop new material and records, we’ve decided to take a look at the month of January and pick out five LPs we cannot wait to hear…

1) You Me at Six – ‘Night People’ – Released January 6

Produced by Jacquire King, English rock band You Me at Six return with their latest collection of music, introducing their fans to a whole new slew of tracks that follow on from the three already-released singles (‘Night People’, ‘Plus One’ and ‘Give’). Though the band haven’t revealed too much about what we should expect from ‘Night People’, if the three songs that are already out have anything to do with the sound we’re going to hear from the entire LP, we’re very excited.

2) The Flaming Lips – ‘Oczy Mlody’ – Released January 13

It’s been almost a year since The Flaming Lips started work on their new album ‘Oczy Mlody’ with Dave Fridmann, and Wayne Coyne confirmed earlier this year that the record would be released at some point in January, 2017, before the group confirmed that the album would be coming on the 13th later on in 2016. You can check out the lead single from the new record below:

3) The xx – ‘I See You’ – Released January 13

English indie pop band The xx have spent the past three years recording their new album ‘I See You’, following their former record ‘Coexist’ which was released all the way back in 2012. The group recently revealed that the new album will have a more positive and expansive concept than the records they’ve released in the past, and said they’ll have a more distinctive sound than ever before. Judge for yourself with lead single ‘On Hold’ below:

4) Tinie Tempah – ‘Youth’ – Released January 27

It’s hard to believe that ‘Youth’ is just the third studio album from Tinie Tempah, but the musician isn’t somebody who’s going to release music just for the sake of it and to remain in the public eye. Tinie’s already seen some big success with his music, with Zara Larsson collaboration ‘Girls Like’ rising straight up the UK charts earlier this year. Revisit that song below and get the whole record on January 27.

5) Iggy Azalea – ‘Digital Distortion’ – Date TBA

Iggy Azalea’s return is right around the corner, with the Australian hip-hop star gearing up for the release of her second studio album. Announcing her plans back in 2015, there’s been little-to-no information about ‘Digital Distortion’ released, but the album is expected to drop at some point in January. We can’t wait to hear what the rapper has up her sleeves this time.
