Akon not quite the Konvict

Famed R&B singing sensation Akon who has always deemed himself a former criminal who spent three years locked up in prison for being a notorious carjacker has allegedly been uncovered as nothing of the sort. It has been unearthed that the troubled performer actually only spent five months in jail as he couldn’t make the bail after being arrested for driving a stolen car.In interviews he has glorified his arrest as being the result of a high speed chase which involved numerous police cars and cops when in reality it turns out he was just pulled over driving a stolen vehicle after being released on bail for an earlier firearm possession charge.

Brooklyn's Joell Ortiz officially released

After being signed to Aftermath since late 2006 Joell Ortiz who has yet to put out an album out under the guidance of Dr Dre has been released from his contract. The rapper who has maintained a serious presence while waiting to release an album on the mighty label which boasts names such as 50 Cent, Eminem and Busta Rhymes released his debut album through independent label Koch in April of last year. The Brick (Bodega Chronicles).

He said in a recent statement since leaving the label that he will continue to work with Dr. Dre who will provide some production input on his next album.

LA Times will not be be moved

After numerous demands were made for newspapers and media outlets to disclose their background material online the LA Times Editor Russ Stanton has indicated that ‘this will not be happening.’

The demands came after the legendary newspaper issued a story written by Chuck Phillips indicating that the shooting of rap icon Tupac Shakur in a NYC recording studio was planned by a gang including Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond and this was known by Sean Combs and the late rapper Biggie Smalls.

The documents which Phillips had secured to indicate that this was actually true were later deemed false and the writer, the LA Times and the publisher of the highly respected daily were to issue statements of retraction and apologies to all those incriminated in the story.

Feekey Zeke hospitalized after car crash

Diplomat President Freekey Zeke was involved in a car crash earlier this week which saw the rapper’s white Mercedes land on top of a hummer on Manhattans upper east side.

The car which was being driven by the rappers driver and which was carrying three females in the back as well as the Diplomat, was hit by a car running a red light.

No-one was seriously hurt but all passengers in the car were take to hospital for minor complaints. One girl received 12 stitches for a cut to her head. Zeke was leaving the studio after recording for his new album when the accident happened.
