In today's Daily Rap mariah Carey gets married, 50 Cent meets Nelson Mandela, John Legend is working on third album and Lil Wayne to make movie debut.

Mariah gets hitched

Mariah Carey has wed MTV star Nick Cannon, eleven years her junior in a secret wedding in the Bahamas it has been reported by NY tabloid, The Post. The singer who has been dating Nick Cannon for only a month is said to be smitten with him, in fact so smitten that they went ahead and tied the knot without a pre-nup in place. This will be the second wedding for the singer who first married her former label boss Tommy Mottola in a huge fairy style wedding which closed down parts of Manhattan back in the late eighties.

50 meets Mandela

Superstar rapper 50 Cent made a special house call while on tour in South Africa. The Queens bred rapper spent some time with the 90 year old president of the country Nelson Mandela in his home in Soweto away from entourages and security guards and the rapper also paid a visit to the Apartheid Museum.He and his G Unit affiliates, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo will also be playing to a sold out 80,000 seated arena while in the country and will be paying a visit to a platinum mine to understand just how the product gets from the ground to the streets.

Third Album in the works for Legend

Kanye West label mate John Legend is hard at work on his third album. Expected to hit shelves in September, Legend famed for tracks like Ordinary People and for signing English songstress Estelle has some serious names lined up to help the project be just as successful as the previous two.

Producers on the album are slated to include of course, Kanye West, the Neptunes and the Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am and possibly the biggest name to lend a helping hand is that of Andre 3000 who is featured on the single Green Light.

Lil Wayne hits silver screen

Rapper Lil Wayne is set to make his major movie debut this year when he appears alongside Oscar nominated Forrest Whitaker in the movie The Patriots around late November time.

The movie is based around the hurricane hit city New Orleans, where Lil Wayne was born and raised and is about a basketball team which is made up of players from different teams before the notorious Hurricane Katrina hit the Louisiana city.

Lil Wayne will also be releasing his third lyrical installment this year in the shape of Tha Carter III which will hit shelves on June 10th.
