Remy Ma released from SRC/Terror Squad
Bronx rapper Remy Ma has officially been released from her situation with SRC and Terror Squad after disappointing album sales of her first release There's Something About Remy. The rapper born Remy Smith was nurtured into the industry by the late Puerto Rican rapper Big Pun and was signed to Terror Squad by teh labels main artist Fat Joe after the death of Pun back in 1999.Her late album was as she stated 'not marketed correctly' and even though she hopes to continue friendships with both Fat Joe or Terror Squad and Steve Rifkind of SRC who have supported her career since she was 16 years old, Remy is happy to cut ties with them professionally. "To me they just didn't have the same drive anymore. They're getting older and they're comfortable. Me on the other hand, I'm just maturing and I'm hungry and I'm in beast mode.I want so much, and I refuse to lose or settle. I paid my dues now it's Remy time." she explained in an interview with allhiphop.com.Steve Rifkind had already addressed the situation with Remy in a previous interview by stating "to be honest, she probably had every right to be disgruntled.. it wasn't going as fast as she would have liked or as how I would have liked to be honest with you," There are now talks of the rapper famed for songs like Conceited and Feels So Good signing with Virgin as she gets ready to release her second album Punish-Her.
