Kanye to Avoid Charges

After his outburst at LAX airport earlier this month ,Kanye West has avoided felony charges for breaking a camera lens of a paparazzi who was trying to snap his picture as he boarded a commercial flight to Hawaii.

It is still yet to be decided if the Chicago rapper and producer will face misdemeanor charges. The TMZ reporter whom also got involved in the altercation dropped charges against Kanye and his tour manager who was accompanying him.

Kanye is currently promoting the first single from his forthcoming album 808’s and Heartbreak, Love Lockdown which is in the top five on the Billboard charts and ITunes charts this week.

Birthplace of Hip-Hop to be Sold

1520 Sedgwick Avenue which is officially recognized as the birthplace of Hip-Hop is to be sold after months of speculation.

The landlords of the property are withdrawing from the building from the NYC Moderate Housing Program which provides ‘low income families with the opportunity to rent apartments within their financial reach.’ The building is then expected to be sold to a major real estate developer.

Tenants, Hip-Hop lovers and the general public have battled all the way to prevent this from happening by filing a lawsuit which would prohibit the sale of the notorious building, however the case was dismissed, leaving the future of the building unknown.

It was at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue that the first ever Hip-Hop party took place back in the early 1970’s which was DJed by Kool Herc and hosted by his sister Cindy Campbell.
