In todays 'Rap' sheet Akon in deep water stage sex act's, Radio stations ban 'sexist' Hip Hop, TI talks about his forthcoming album, what did 50 Cent have to say to Tim Westwood and finally Jermaine Dupri honour

Akon in deep water
After grabbing a 15 year old girl from the audience at one of his shows in Trinidad last weekend, Akon has found himself in hot water. The singer whose second album has already gone double platinum thanks to songs like Smack That featuring Eminem took the young girl on the stage and simulated sexual acts with her during his performance. The girl is actually the daughter of a Pastor, Dave Alleyne of the Flaming Word Ministry of Chaguanas who has spoken out about the escapade which has been featured on numerous websites during the last week. The Pastor stated that his daughter 'had no control' over the situation yet people are speaking out and saying that the girl was just as guilty as the singer was but the footage which showed her gyrating on top of the singer was not available on the internet.
Radio stations ban controversial rap music
Two of the major radio stations in New York have banned offensive Hip-hop from their airwaves after the music has come under serious scrutiny since sports commentator Don Imus was fired from his role at CBS/MSNBC for making a totally racist and derogatory remark about the Rutgers College female basketball team, whom he called 'nappy headed hoe's.'General manager of the Roberts Broadcasting company that owns Hot 97 Terrill Weiss said "There's probably a higher incidence of derogatory language in general in Hip-Hop music because it's a language of the street. It reflects life, and their art involves a lot of language that could be deemed objectionable."

There have been numerous attacks on Hip-Hop and its purveyors over the last two weeks stemming from the remarks made by Imus.

TI talks new album
TI gave up some information about his forthcoming album on Atlantic Records. The album has three different sections to it, TI, T.I.TI vs TIP and rather than putting the album out as a double CD which is what a lot fo people have expected it will come out on one disc. "It's the struggle of power between two personalities within one self," TI explained on the concept of the album.

With production coming from some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop right now, the album is slated to be just as successful if not as successful as his King release last year which was one of the very few hip-Hop albums to see platinum last year.

The album titled TI vs TIP is expected to be on shelves late June early July.

50 talks with Tim Westwood
Rapper Curtis Jackson talked openly with Tim Westwood on a number of subjects this past week. Explaining that his album which is dropping on June 25th is going to have the same effect as a 'natural disaster like a tsunami.'

It will be over two years since we have heard an album from the Queens rapper and after the success of his Get Rich or Die Trying and The Massacre, sales of his third album are expected to be a well needed boost for the industry.

50 went on to explain that to save Hip-Hop 'it needs people [artists] to put in stronger efforts to make four albums of quality material" as opposed to falling prey to the era of single hits which we appear to be in right now.

When asked about the recent on-going feud with Diplomats and Cam'ron, 50 Cent said he as moved past that as he couldn't keep responding to someone who is ignorant.

The rapper also addressed the issues that Hip-Hop is being blamed for the spate of shootings in London, where rap music has come under fire. "They will try to pick something small enough and go in and attack it, " he defended as he explained that blame is never put on Hollywood as 'image is stronger than words.'

50 will be going out on a European tour starting on June 2nd.
