BET set to hit UK
BET (Black Entertainment Television) is set to launch in the UK in late 2007 it has been reported. The channel which was founded in 1980 by Robert Johnson was given a license to air by Ofcam in May and shows which are expected to hit TV screens in the UK are Lil Kim's Countdown to Lockdown and College Hill.BET provides its viewers with comedy, music and news but has in recent years been highly criticized as it has focused more on Hip-Hop by showing excessive music videos and music related reality shows and not covering the social issues and community issues that they initially set out to do.
Foxy Brown attacked
Rapper Foxy Brown was attacked in Brooklyn this weekend after trying to 'dump' her boyfriend after finding out he was a pimp. The attack was encouraged by the boyfriend who had called three female 'associates' who then preceded to beat the rapper. Allegedly Foxy Brown also had her purse stolen and $500. Brown, born Inga Merchand had been co-operating with the NYPD about the attack until one of her representatives arrived on the scene. It is not clear if the rapper was admitted to hospital for her injuries.
Suge Knight selling up
Founder of Death Row Records, Suge Knight has put his Malibu Mansion on the market for $6.2.

Knight filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2006 after being ordered by a court to pay Lydia Harris $107 million in 2005 for her husbands involvement in starting Death Row Records back in 1991.Drug Kingpin Michael Harris is said to have invested $1.5 million into Death Row and has since been imprisoned on drug charges for a 50% stake in the company.

Death Row was at one time or another home to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur.

Swizz Beats
After the disappointing sales of her Spanish album, Jenifer Lopez has called in the troops to aid her with her up and coming fifth English album. Super producer Swizz Beats who has worked with Beyonce, Eve, Kanye West and Busta Rhymes

Como Ama una Mujer, her Spanish release which hit shelves in March of 2007 was more successful in Europe where it peaked at number 3 on the album charts but failed to make an impression on Lopez's home land "We're putting together some great things, and not what everyone's expecting. Think a little Jamiroquai, a little Sade.

It's real feel-good music" said Swizz Beats on the album which is set to be released in September.
