Jay Z defends Hip-Hop

As Oasis founder Noel Gallagher lashed out about Jay Z headlining the legendry Glastonbury Festival, Jay Z took the diplomatic approach in defending the actions of the Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis in incorporating Hip-Hop. Jay Z who responded to Gallagher's statement in The Sun newspaper had this to say 'We don’t play guitars, Noel, but Hip Hop has put in its work like any other form of music. This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving.'This years Glastonbury will also feature The Verve, Massive Attack, Duffy, Pete Doherty and Dizze Rascal and will kick off Friday June 27th in the UK.

Remy Ma Sentenced

After her marriage to fellow rapper Papoose was called off on Monday after he was caught trying to smuggle in a key into the service, Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years behind bars yesterday. The sentence comes after being found guilty of aggravated assault stemming from the shooting of Makeda Barnes Joseph last year. The two friends were embroiled in a bitter argument over money when a gun went off.Remy Ma who is currently being held on Rikers Island will be moved to a women's facility in upstate New York to begin her sentence and it is expected that her and Papoose who is now banned from seeing her until November will marry once she is secured there.

Busta hype man arrested

Spliff Star, the hype Man of Flip Mode front man Busta Rhymes was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend after police raided the rooms of the performers and uncovered an unidentified substance in the room of Spliff Star.

He was released after the local police took a urine sample which will be tested for narcotics.

Nate Dogg not dead

Hackers who managed to get into the myspace page of West Coast legend, Nate Dogg indicated that the singer had actually passed away but his manager assured the media and fans that Nate Dogg was in fact very much alive.

The vocalist who has been featured on tracks from all the major artists on the West Coast and has had a successful solo career suffered a stroke in January, but is doing just fine in the recovery of that.

Rod McCrew, Nate’s long time manager said that it was nothing more than a ‘vicious rumor,’ as the story was being reported all over the internet and radio.
