Joe McElderry was keen to get his name back in the headlines now that his whole gay confession has lost media interest, so he's decided to discuss his mate Cheryl Tweedy's personal life.
The X Factor flop told Closer magazine that he'd seen the pair together and that they were super close, making it very difficult for the X Factor judge to deny rumours about her relationship with dancing boy Derek Hough.
Joe bragged; "I went to see Cheryl perform in London and she was dancing with Derek. Afterwards backstage, he was so sweet and caring around her. He’s obviously her rock. They’ve become really close – he’s perfect for her."
