Perez Hilton, the original celebrity blogger, will be the Host of this year’s live webcast of the 2008 ITV Europe Music Awards. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool – European Capital of Culture - on Thursday 6th November.“This is an incredible coup as Perez is the pioneer of celebrity exposé blogging,” said Richard Godfrey Senior Vice President, Music and Production and Executive Producer, MTV Europe Music Awards. “As the Host of this year’s live web broadcast he is sure to bring his own unique style of incisive reportage to the show to make it a web experience to remember.”This will be the first time that Perez Hilton – the self professed “Queen of all Media” – will be a presenter for MTV in Europe following his VH1 premiere What Perez Sez in the US.“MTV is bringing Russell Brand to America to bring a little bit of British flair to the VMAs as their host this weekend. Over 78.8 million votes were cast (+360% vs 2006) and there were 200,000 unique WAP visitors (+305% vs 2006) and 3.2 million video streams. The 2008 MTV EMAs will continue to offer audiences multiple opportunities to engage with content via television, web and mobile and will be broadcast on 21 channels – in over 40 countries - across Europe.
