Rod Stewart has signed on for a concert at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the same venue that also hosts ongoing shows by Elton John and Celine Dion.

The Hot Legs hit-maker will join Elton and Celine Dion at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning a two-year run of shows in August (11).

In a statement, Stewart says the show will be "90 per cent songs that people know".

The Hits, will focus on the singer's most famous tunes, such as "Maggie May," "The First Cut is the Deepest" and "Reason to Believe."

And he tells Billboard.biz he'll be turning his back on his recent standards and soul recordings for what will be "a rock 'n' roll show".

He adds, "We'll try to give the people what they want, which are the songs that made me famous, plus a few surprises. There won't be any magicians or midgets, just a good rock show."

Stewart sold out the Colosseum in November (10) when he performed eight nights at the venue. Those 18-song played was some of his more famous hits such as  "Proud Mary" and the "I Get A Kick Out of You."

The first 18 concerts of Stewart's concert will go on sale May 15th.
