Naughty Boy has insisted that he didn't leak a Zayn Malik music video and says that the former One Direction member was "throwing his toys out of the pram" after the controversy led to the pair having a huge fallout.

Quitting the band in March of this year, Zayn and Naughty Boy became very public close friends, with the pair posting pictures together on social media platforms, which caused tensions with 1D member Louis Tomlinson who took to Twitter to take swipes at the producer.

However, the friendship wasn't to last as Zayn hit out at Naughty Boy in July, calling him a "fat joke" and accusing him of being behind the music video leak for 'No Type'.

Keen to now set the record straight, Naughty Boy told The Guardian newspaper: "I didn't leak the video. I didn't leak it. Krept, who is on the tune with Zayn, Snapchatted it. No one put it on YouTube or nothing. I genuinely didn't leak the video. To be honest, it was a bit late to leak the video, the song was old by then, yknow?

"That wasn't... that was just him throwing his toys out of the pram. We fell out over something else," he confirmed, but wouldn't go into details about what the real spat was about.

Admitting he missed his former friend, he said what the pair had was "100 per cent genuine," but he won't be reaching out to him anytime soon.

He sighed: "I don't think now's the time, though. I think Zayn's incredibly talented and his voice is amazing and the world doesn't know that yet. The world doesn't know how gifted he actually is, so I think the best thing for him to do now is to go a bit radio silent and let the music do the talking, because then he won't have to get into Twitter wars with Calvin Harris or me, or whoever.

"There's no music out there, so right now he's just the guy who left One Direction, but I know different, because I know him."
