Ben Onono is set to release the striking single ‘Count To Ten’ on May 5th which is taken from the stunning debut album ‘Native Stranger’ released May 12th through Jos Records.Fans of the hugely successful TV series ‘Long Way Down’ which features Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman riding through Africa, will already know Ben Onono’s music. The new album features extensively throughout the show after they took some of Ben’s music on the trip and enjoyed it so much, they included it into the series. Ben Onono also co-wrote It Just Won’t Do with DJ Tim Deluxe – a song which became one of the biggest dance tracks of the year in 2002 and number one at the Miami winter music conference. As if that wasn’t enough, the song was then nominated for an Ivor Novello award one of the top accolades for songwriters. Ben’s collaboration with Tim Deluxe led to him writing seven songs on the DJ’s debut album The Little Ginger Club Kid in 2003. Branching out as a songwriter, he wrote for people as diverse as David Guetta, Fatboy Slim and Natalie Imbruglia.With three top 40s under his belt and confident in his ability as a songwriter, it’s time to launch his solo album. In a way, his whole life has been leading up to this point; the point at which he could release his own record his way, and on his terms. Ben co produced his album with Rhys Adams and recorded most of his album in the living room of his East London flat - Armed with a Mac and a Neumann U47 Microphone (The Same Nat King Cole used) and a few musician friends.
