The Vampire Diaries

The smash hit US TV show ‘The Vampire Diaries’ has just returned to ITV2 for its second series, and to celebrate Parlophone Records is releasing the official soundtrack album, featuring exclusive tracks from a variety of world-famous artists, including a brand-new song from Goldfrapp, called ‘We Radiate’.

The album also features ‘Under The Stars’, the debut single from Morning Parade, one of the most exciting new British bands in years, who i-D have already claimed, “This band will smash 2011.”

‘The Vampire Diaries’ is set in Mystic Falls, Virginia and features two vampire brothers – one good, one evil – in an elemental struggle for 17-year old Elena Gilbert’s soul. Its season one debut pulled in the highest network audience for a debut in US history, with nearly six million viewers. In the UK, it’s one of ITV2’s top-rated shows, alongside Xtra Factor and Gossip Girl.

The soundtrack album features tracks from both season one and two, including fan favourites such as ‘Running Up That Hill’ by Placebo, a cover of the Tears For Fears classic ‘Head Over Heels’ by Digital Daggers and ‘Sleep Alone’ by Bat For Lashes. It also features exclusive new tracks from Smashing Pumpkins, (‘The Fellowship’), Gorillaz (‘On Melancholy Hill’ Feed Me remix) and Howls (‘Hammock’).
