Allegro - Forever EP

Album: Forever EP

OUT NOW

Rating: 4/5

Allegro have been battling to get this EP released for some time so it seems quite ironic that by the time that it finally hits the shelves the band are no more.

But what is sad about the whole delay of this record is that Allegro have put together a great collection of indie/pop tracks - it is not hard to see why people were sitting up and taking notice of this band.

City Lights is the opening track on the EP and it is a song that is packed with energy and swagger that immediately have you hooked.

Stringys has a further injection of pace and this is really one of the best tracks on the album.

The guitars scream out and are really the heart and soul of this track while Austin Edwards' voice really comes alive on this track.

Edwards has a voice that is perfectly suited to this indie/pop sound and he really is an excited vocalist and frontman.

I'll Stand By You and I'll Be There For You continue to show off the band's up beat sound as they mix jangly guitars with catchy melodies.

Alright is another great track on the album as there is bit of an unpolished feel almost to this song - the guitars and Edwards' vocal just feels so raw.

You can hear that this band have been influenced by the likes of Blur and The Libertines and they have taken all those influences and put their own stamp on this genre - it is a shame that we won't be hearing anything more from them.
