Rating: 4/5

Gabriel Bruce is back this week with his two part EP Dark Lights, Shine Loud/ A Brief And Selfish Lover - which is the long awaited follow-up to Sleep Paralysis.

Dark Lights, Shine Loud is one hell of an opening track as the thumping guitars really driven the song forward.

There may be guitars and drums thrashing it out but Gabriel Bruce’s vocal is the most powerful instrument of all as he grows and snarls his way through the song with a real power and prowess.

Father Father opens in a dark and melancholic way with Bruce showing just how great the lower range of his voice - seriously the opening bars will really get under your skin.

This track is perhaps most similar to the material on Sleep Paralysis and this is an incredibly dark and yet powerful track.

Zoe is perhaps the least rock track on here as he dabbles with dancier elements - which work really well as suit his deep vocal.

For Gabriel Bruce fans that have bee waiting for new material Dark Lights, Shine Loud/ A Brief And Selfish Lover really won’t disappoint as he dabbles with different genres and sounds to deliver quite an eclectic collection of tracks.

No two songs on this album sound the same but the rocky opening f Dark Light, Shine Loud is the standout track of the collection.
