It has been two years since the release of Renegade Creation’s debut album and now the band is back with Bullet.
Robben Ford, Michael Landau, Jimmy Haslip and Gary Novak have put together a collection of tracks that are fantastically mix blues and rock and looks set to win over a whole new set of fans.
All Over Again is the first track on the album and the mix of the two genres couldn’t be more prevalent as it is here in what is a fantastic opening track.
Blue Rock is such a great genre of music as the rock elements sets the track alive while the blues gives the song real depth and soul.
Bullet is the album’s title track and it is another energy filled song on the album where the solos are just as important as the vocals.
Ford’s deep vocals blend fantastically with the guitars on the track to produce a track that has real depth in its sound - it’s is perhaps one of the rockier tracks on the album.
But what really makes this album stand out are the fantastic arrangements that are present throughout as there are some fantastic riffs along with plenty of solos that shows off the playing ability of all involved.
Bullet is as much about the guitars as it is about the songs and the vocals, perhaps even more so, as you get swept away with the fantastic playing prowess that they all possess.
And because the guitars are allowed to take front and centre stage this is an album that is brimming with energy and life and it each track will just pull you in and wash over you.
But the band show that they are not a one track pony with a track like Nazareth as they slow the pace right down and it is very much all about the acoustic guitar and the vocal.
Nazareth is a beautiful track and really is one of the best on the album as the emotion seeps through every word.
The blues and rock combination is something that works really well throughout the entire album and it makes this record stand out to anything else that is out there at the moment.
Bullet is a real slice of rock and roll at I should keep fans of the band happy as well as introducing Renegade Creation to a new audience.
