San Cisco’s single Awkward has been whipping up a storm on YouTube and now the band is back with their new EP.

The EP marks the band’s first release here in the UK and they are a band that we should all be looking out for as they really are going places.

Awkward is the opening track on the EP and it is a catchy sing about falling in love for the very first time.

There is a teenage innocence to this song which is incredibly charming and the duet of Jordi Davieson and Scarlett Stevens works really well and two different points of view.

Where Awkward is very much a guitar driven track Rocket Ship sees the band experiment with a wide range of instruments - which gives this track quite an eclectic feel.

There are dancey melodies throughout and there is an infectious energy that you can’t help but get swept along with, it is clear that this collection of songs have been put together with great passion and a huge slice of fun.

Lover is another high paced track but it is the song that really shows off the grittiness of Jordi’s vocals, particularly in the verses.

There is a real simplicity with the production of the EP as the band have not tried to do anything fancy or over the top they have just demonstrated their quirky sound and their ability to write really catchy lyrics.

Have to admit that the cover of Arctic Monkeys’ track 505 is perhaps a bit of a no go as this just doesn’t work for me.

Reckless is the closing track on the EP and it is the slowest track on the record that shows a delicate and more emotional side to Jodi’s vocals.

Awkward is a great collection of tracks that shows that this band is just having a ball - can’t wait to hear a full LP.
