The Milk have been thrilling audiences this summer on the festival and they are back this week with the release of their debut album Tales From The Thames Delta.

Tales From The Thames Delta is an upbeat and energy filled album from the very beginning as it brings a whole host of genres together.

Broke Up The Family is the opening track on the album and there is a real rock feel to the track as the guitar and piano come together to drive the track forward.

Rick Nunn is also on fine vocal form with this track and there is a real grit and power to the lower end of his range.

Broke Up The Family is a track that is just brimming with energy and it is one of those tracks that will get stuck in your head.

There is a change of genre with Hometown as The Milk mix pop with a little bit of soul that suits Nunn’s vocal brilliantly.

That pop vibe continues through to (All I Wanted Was) Danger and this is another track that is brimming with energy and fun - the opening tracks are seriously radio friendly.

The mixing of the genres and sounds continues as there is bit more of a reggae fell to Nothing But Matter that has a catchy melody - it is just one of those sunshine tracks.

The Milk close the album with a change of pace as Lay The Pain On Me is one of the best tracks on the album.

Supported by just a piano the vocals of Rick Nunn and the rest of the band are well and truly on show and it is great to see the band deliver such an emotional and raw track.

Tales From The Thames Delta shows off the versatility of The Milk and while the band may jump around from genre to genre all the tracks on this record flow and fit seamlessly together.

This is an album that is incredibly vibrant and upbeat and The Milk have produced a collection of tracks that will just sweep you away.

It’s not hard to see why The Milk are growing in popularity and that looks set to continue with the release of this great record.
