After winning over a legion of fans on a recent tour as well as plying plenty of festivals over the last couple of years Two Wounded Birds have finally released their self-titled debut album.

The band have already showed off their energetic and quirky sound with EP’s and singles and this twelve track album just cements why everyone is so excited about this band.

Together Forever is a the opening track on the album and immediately Two Wounded Birds show off their energy as this is one hell of an infectious song.

The band really does seem to have a great sense of melody and that is demonstrated in bucket loads in this opening track - I defy you to not want to hit the dancefloor when you hear this.

My Lonesome is another fantastic track and there is a real haunting feel to Johnny Danger’s vocals throughout the song, it couldn’t be more different from the opening song.

These somewhat chilling tones are supported fantastically but mesmerising guitars that help give a real depth to this track - the organ solo at the end of the track is also great.

To Be Young continues this slower pace where, once again, the vocals and the brilliant guitar work come together beautifully.

It’s not hard to see why everyone is so excited about Two Wounded Birds as they have delivered an album that has a real nostalgic feel to it.

They don’t copy the style of any of the these bands but you can see hear the influences from the likes of The Beach Boys and The Ramones but they have taken that sound and put their own spin on it.

And while there is a somewhat nostalgic feel to this debut album the sound is in no way dated and no one else is making this kind of music.

Two Wounded Birds mix their pace throughout the album which works really well as each track has its own individual energy, not to mention some really haunting and emotional moments.

And all of those elements are brought to life by Danger’s stunning lead vocals he has these really lush tones that blend so well with the backing guitar work.

Two Wounded Birds are a fun band that has captured the very essence of rock and roll with this great debut album and it is a record that is not to be missed!!!

Two Wounded Birds - Two Wounded Birds is released 11th June
