With One Last Breath is a band that has been together for five years but it is only recently that they have really started whipping up a storm.
This week sees five piece return with their brand new EP Wake The Dead - a collection of six new tracks.
Down The Darkest Road kicks off in fine style as the guitars burst into life and the vocals really do roar into life.
Now if you don’t like your rockers screaming on tacks then this is perhaps the not the record for you but there is a real powerful in the vocals that really will take you by surprise.
This is nothing better in heavy metal that hearing an electric guitar going hell for leather in a solo and that is exactly what you get on this track… and it sounds great.
Much like Down The Darkest Road the second track I’m Taking Over is another track that the boys have been touring for some time.
And while Down The Darkest Road was left pretty much untouched the boys have played around with I’m Taking Over. There is more an intensity to the track this time around as the have altered the breakdown in the middle to the song.
Burn Out The Flame and Until The End have also has some production tweaks to them as the boys have grown as musicians since their self entitled debut EP.
It is great to see the band updating tracks as they develop them live but it really is time that they deliver a full length album.
Having said that Wake The Dead is a relentless record that is powerful from start to finish and never lets the listener catch their breath.
