Protest The Hero

Protest The Hero

Protest The Hero , the five Canadian rockers from Whitby in Ontario, will have their new/third studio album released on March 21st 2011 through Spinefarm Records UK.

Titled ‘Scurrilous’ and produced by Julius ‘Juice’ Butty / mixed by Machine, this 10-track offering is the follow-up to 2008’s sophomore release ‘Fortress’ (2008); as usual, the level of musicianship on display is truly dazzling from start to finish, with lead single/video ‘C’est La Vie’ leading the charge – all spiralling guitar, locomotive off-kilter rhythms (very much a PTH trademark) and huge soarin’ melodies.

Other tracks on the album include ‘Hair-Trigger’ (featuring the back-up vocals of Canadian folk artist Jadea Kelly, who has previously guested with the band both live & on record), ‘Moonlight’, ‘Dunsel’ & ‘Sex Tapes’; this time around, frontman Rody Walker has taken the lead on the lyric writing side, resulting in the most personal set of PTH lyrics to date, leaving his colleagues to unleash the musical fireworks – an adrenalized shred-fest that also delivers big-time on The Groove.

PROTEST THE HERO have just kicked off a world tour, which will see them playing right across Europe before heading back to Canada & the US; they are also scheduled to appear at Australia’s annual travelling Soundwave Festival.

PTH first came into being back in 1999, when the band members were just 14 years old, releasing their debut album ‘Kezia’ in 2006. The line-up has remained constant ever since.
