Waking Theo - Reborn EP

Waking Theo - Reborn EP

Hotly-tipped Northern metal crew ‘Waking Theo’ are primed to break out to the nation with their explosive new EP ‘Reborn’, which hits stores on Monday 11th February 2013.

Relentless and uncompromising, soaring and intricate, Waking Theo weld the brutal to the beautiful, creating music that distinctively walks the tight rope between the extreme and the accessible.

With a vast cross-section of influences, stemming from classic thrash and metal through to modern-day melodic death and metalcore, Waking Theo carve out a sound that is undoubtedly their own.

Born in 2006 and busting out of the Yorkshire wilderness, the irrepressible quintet are 100% committed to the execution and construction of their craft.

Through extensive gigging and intense rehearsing, Waking Theo have finely tuned their live show, which has led to them being selected for support slots with names such as While She Sleeps, Bleed from Within, Malefice, Trigger the Bloodshed, and many more.

Not to mention the fact that the band were hand-picked for this year’s Bloodstock festival, where they eagerly showcased new material to a packed tent of avid metal fans.

But the road to rock stardom is rarely a smooth one, and changes in personnel have slightly hindered Waking Theo’s rise. In early 2012, the band parted ways with their original singer/co-founder soon after the release of their second EP ‘Ghost in the Machine’.

The decision was based on the band’s unwavering drive and desire to make a solid impact on the modern day metal scene. Soon after, Waking Theo welcomed aboard Craig Gordon, a passionate and skilled vocalist who now fully completes the current line-up.

Now as an invigorated and revitalised unit. Waking Theo are set to firmly stamp their mark on the Brit metal scene as evidenced by their brand new 3 track EP ‘Reborn’, out this February.

From the blistering opening of their new video single ‘To the Lions’, to the whiplash riffery of ‘Downcast’, onto the track title ‘Reborn’, which heartily displays Craig Gordon’s immense vocal prowess, suitably bolstered by his compatriots’ weighty depth and impressive layering, it’s clear that Waking Theo have arrived.

And with a full length album schedule for the later Spring, there’s nothing holding them back this time.
