Glass City Vice

Glass City Vice

Brighton-based Glass City Vice are a sharp, clean cut band who deliver anthemic, guitar-drenched Alt-Rock in a fearless and immediate manner.

Their hook-laden tracks have proven a big hit on local airwaves, and after a few small-scale single releases and two well-received EPs, Glass City Vice now launch their debut national single ‘Have To
Say’ to the wider world.

As exaltation from fans, promoters and local media continues to grow, the band stay true to the rigid work ethic and pragmatic DIY approach that has allowed them to achieve much, in a relatively short period of time.

Since forming two years ago, their appetite for touring has seen them play over 200 shows so far, including four self-booked UK tours. They’ve supported the likes of Lawson, The Xcerts and American
Pop-punk legends The Audition; all the while achieving university degrees!

The incessant writing, recording and touring hadn’t gone unnoticed by the music industry. Their first EP ‘No Direction’, was produced by Matt O’Grady (You Me At Six, Deaf Havana, Don Broco, Your
Demise) who approached the band after seeing them live.

Their second EP ‘Limelight’ saw them team up with renowned Brighton-based producer, Gez Walton (The King Blues, Earthtone9, The Ghost of a Thousand, Pitchshifter) who had also caught on to the band’s buzz and was keen to work with them.

They even recorded their track ‘In My Head ’with Mercury nominated producer, Jag Jago (The Maccabees, Your Demise, The Xcerts).

In their own words: "Have To Say is written from the point of view of an individual questioning changing relationships with partners, parents, friends etc.

"We wanted the song to relate to everyone so have left it to the listener to decide what it means to them".

Determined to keep their heads screwed on and avoid the Brighton ‘hipster’ image, more live shows will follow in the UK and Europe in 2013 as this hard-working band battle to match their lofty ambitions.
