For one day only families will be able to see the much anticipated Shrek Forever After in 3D on Film Day of National Family Week, Tuesday 1 June, a full month before the general release on July 2nd.

DreamWorks Animation, Paramount Pictures and Vue cinemas have joined in support of National Family Week to put on a one off preview of the film with two viewings across 63 Vue cinemas.

As the first UK nation-wide public viewing of its kind, the Week and its partners celebrate the magic of family films and the special role they play in childhood memories and family life.

Tickets are now on sale to this one-off and unprecedented event, with the films general release not until 2 July, a full month after the Family Week Film Day. A flagship screening of Shrek Forever After will be held at Westfield, London with further screenings to take place around the country.

National Family Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of family life. Over 5000 events are taking place throughout the country for families to enjoy throughout the summer half term. 

The average family spends just 49 minutes a day together, with money being the biggest barrier to spending more quality family time.

National Family Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of families. The Week aims to encourage families to spend more quality time together, and champions the benefits of a healthy, active and positive family life.

The second ever National Family Week takes place between 31 May and 6 June and will see over 5000 events take place across the country including 16 large-scale headline events, as well as competitions discounts on 50 Family Days Out and a ‘family value’ campaign offering special offers and savings from a multitude of family brands.

National Family Week is backed by the major political parties and is personally endorsed by Gordon Brown and David Cameron.
