If you have been invited to a Christening and don’t want to buy a traditional gift like a money box or cutlery set- here are some ideas that both the parents and the baby will love.

A time capsule- There will be plenty of keepsakes from their Christening day so a time capsule could be an ideal way to store these precious items for the child to open on a significant birthday like their 18th or 21st.

A personalised teddy bear- All babies love teddy bears, but what could be more meaningful than one that has their name stitched on the foot or that has been specially made for them?

A poem- If you are creative at heart- you could write the baby a poem and include lines about their features, their personality and their family and present it to them in a decorative frame. Something to read over and over again throughout their life.

A photograph- If your talents lie with a camera- you could take a picture of them in their Christening outfit before the big day and get it framed or take a snapshot of something that has some significance to them or brings them comfort.

Artwork- Perhaps you are good at painting or drawing- if so- you could create a piece of artwork of the baby or of something that they love like their favourite toy for instance.

A personalised blanket- Babies need blankets for their bed, when their parents are cuddling them in for a feed and to pop over them when they are in their pram. Rather than something generic- why not get them a blanket with their name on? They will always know which one is theirs!

A story- If you love nothing more than to write- why not craft them their own story? You could get it professionally bound and gift it to them on the day for their parents to read to them for many years to come. It’s also a wonderful keepsake for them to look back on when they are older too.
