Nearly eight in ten men said that being a father has taught them responsibility, unconditional love and patience.

To add to that, 92 per cent of men said that becoming a parent has made them a better partner.

Single dads were often a lot more willing to want a long-term relationship, with 57 per cent saying that being a dad made them want a steady relationship.

Dads obviously are considerate of other people’s opinions as 21 per cent said they would consult their child for an opinion before their date.

They also show a protective streak as nearly two thirds of men said they would keep their date quiet and not tell their children, most likely to see if the relationship could go anywhere before introducing to their kids.

Cupid.com found that men with daughters said that it makes them more aware of how they treat women and 71 per cent said they want to show their daughter how they should be treated by a man.

When it comes to sons, 86 per cent of dads said they want to set a good example to their son when it comes to how to treat women.

Despite wanting to know who their daughter is dating, dads said they would keep their noses out of their son’s love live and let him learn the tricks of the trade on his own!
