Victoria Milan has found that when a woman feels second best to their partner's phone, it makes them want to get attention elsewhere. In fact 68% of women feel that they are less of a priority than their lover's device, turning their attention to outside of the marital home.

Ironically, this technology helps women to find a man who will give them some attention, so the very device they hate is something they come to love when it works for them, not against them.

Founder and CEO of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal, said "Both men and women strongly agree that technology makes cheating easier than before, and the majority of women assert that without it, it's unlikely they'd be dabbling in adultery. However, while they commend it, women also claim it is negatively affecting their primary relationship. Like everything in life, technology has pros and cons," Mr Vedal said.

6 worst times for your partner to check their phone

At a special event- Birthdays and anniversaries are about two people not the 1,000 others on your Facebook page. Focus!

During a romantic dinner- Oh I'm sorry is the company not good enough? The location? The food? Have you seen those movies where the girl douses the guy in her water? No? Well you're about to make your own version.

During a romantic walk on a weekend out- The week- end and out should really tell you what you need to know so unplug from your digital word and plug into me in a secluded place in the woods.

Before going to sleep- The perfect times for snuggles, kisses and possibly sex- but you would rather pass that up for some dumb You Tube video-great.

After having sex- You had better be tweeting, facebooking how amazing I was in the sack or I may get some lube in your charge port!

At the cinema- You see that massive screen that is right in front of you- you should be looking at that and not your teeny tiny one on your phone. Acceptable behaviour in cinemas- kissing of the neck, squeezing of the thigh, holding of the hands and arms around the shoulders.

During an argument- What are you doing? Updating your Facebook to say 'arguing with my missus?' or are you trying to make the situation worse? Do you really think that pulling out the thing that is causing the fight is going to make this any easier for you?
